Summer's In Full Swing

Summer's here and we're running and playing like crazy.  Going to  our neighborhood playgroup every week and watching lots of baseball.

Rhys: And talking!

Yes, Rhys is talking alot.  He is saying more sentences: "Mommy Milk Spilt" and "Where's Noah? Where's Noah?"  He is singing more songs (like the Thomas the Tank Engine theme song) and loving Elmo and Sesame Street.

Rhys: Don't forget Ego (translation: Diego).

Noah is still loving his mac n' cheese, and has now added chocolate and ice cream to his unique palate of foods he wants all the time.  He is now saving up money to get a new Railway Bus that is part of the Thomas the Tank Engine set.  And this week, he is in baseball camp.

Noah: I hit the ball off the tee!!

Mommy forgot the camera so no pictures yet.  So hopefully she'll remember tomorrow.  This weekend is that 4th of July weekend and we're going away somewhere but we don't know where yet.  We do know that we are going to the Greeley Stampede on Friday, whatever that is, up in Greeley, CO. We hear there's supposed to be a rodeo with cowboys and animals and food and music but we won't be going to the Kid Rock Concert part 'cause we don't have tix.

Rhys: The Mommy's pretty happy about that.  No Kid whoever he is for us.

Noah: Does she even know what a rodeo is?

Rhys: Do we?

Noah: Good point.

Anyway, the photo:  Us & The Daddy in our Dodger Blue!  Go Dodgers! And Yankees! - that one was for Mommy.  Welcome to our two team household.  Good things come in pairs and in blue!

See ya soon!

Memorial Day Trip

On a day that was called Memorial Day we went to a place called Colorado Springs and saw the Air Force school jets practice flying exercises in the sky.  We parked our car and watched.  And then we went to a place called The Garden of the Gods...

Noah: And I stood on a bench that was in a covered space while Mommy took my picture in front of the whole garden.

Rhys: And I stayed in the car.

Then we drove through a town called Cripple Creek that had a working choo-choo train that goes through an old mine and lots of places where people play cards and spend money. Mommy and Daddy said they were called 'casinos'.   Then we drove out again and got lost.  A policeman had to show us the way out much to Mommy's happiness -- to her, we were in the middle of nowhere.  Middle of nowheres make her nervous.   She's such a city girl says Daddy.

Finally we drove back into somewhere and got lunch at Wendy's.

Rhys: And Noah pooped in his bottoms.

Noah: Well, when you gotta go, you gotta go!

Mommy was the one who had to clean The Noah. He got to ride home topless just wearing Daddy's orange running shorts.

Noah: (laughs)  They were sooo big!! They kept falling down.

What a fun day!

The last day of school

Noah: It was the last day of School! I can't believe I survived a whole year of preschool. It was so much fun but you know it is not easy to count penguins and wash the leaves on the plants. We had a picnic after school with all of my friends at school and mommy and daddy. My teachers were there to. I am going to miss them... but I can't wait to play all summer!

Rhys: Well I can't wait to start school myself, but I still have to wait another year and a half. Who need summer. Okay... it is nice to have Noah home all day.

Life These Days

Life these days...is filled with preschool for Noah and times in the morning between The Mommy and Rhys and of course, work for Daddy and a new garden (see 1st photo above).

Noah:

I  am 4 years old and two months and I still go to my preschool - Community Montessori.  I do work there, though sometimes I just want to play.  The teachers tell me I can't play in class so the cylinder blocks are no longer buses with people on them but cylinder blocks with different sized cylinders.   I still see my friends - Josh and Rafael.  We just had our last library trip for the year.  That made me a little sad.  No more borrowing library books.

Daddy still picks me up some days and Mommy picks me up other days.  I still like riding the bus.  Lately, I've had Mommy have us take the SKIP bus to the special 208 bus that goes to Daddy's job.  I like the 208.  When we're on it, we go past the men who work on the streets and we see the bulldozers and the diggers and the excavators.  We also go past the Rec center where I used to go swimming.

I have my church school too, and there I get to play and sing songs and say scriptures like "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son".  I told that to Daddy and Mommy and they were so proud of me.  It made them happy.

I like buses, airplanes, trains, my new railroad, my airport and my box that has the picture of the huge railroad set on it.  I stare at the box everyday and I like looking at with Daddy.  Hopefully we can get more pieces to add to the railroad set that I have.  Yeah!

I don't like rice, chicken sometimes, pickles, onions, crusts on bread, spicy food, chinese food, Rhys when he takes my trains, mean voices and when people tell me things that I don't want to hear.  That gets me upset.  And I 'specially don't like time-outs!  The ones in my room -

Rhys:

My turn!    I am 22 months old though everyone thinks I look 2 years old.  I'm a little big for my age.  I walk, I run, I jump!  I like to bang things still with the green Oregon bat.  I bang everything - even Noah's head.  I love to sit on Noah, too and fall all over him.  Sometimes I grab him around his legs and try to take him down to the floor.  Sometimes he likes it and sometimes he doesn't.  I like it all the time.

I like Thomas the train engine -- I know what he and all his friends look like and I say all their names: Percy, Hungry (translation: Henry), Gordon, Toby, Yames (translation: James), E'ward (Edward).  I really like seeing them on TV.  I also really like Dora the Explorer and Melmo (Elmo).  I get to see Melmo on TV when we watch Sesame Street.

I say more things like "Bless you, Mommy" when The Mommy sneezes or "What's this?" or "Daddy, how're you?".  The way I sound the words is getting clearer.  People are beginning to understand me.  Finally!

I still eat everything.   Food is good.  I love my milk.  I can drink that all day.  Oh yes!  And I still wake up in the middle of night wanting milk.

And I still want up in The Mommy's lap with my bottle of milk.  I just cuddle there and watch T.V.  It doesn't matter if she's on the couch or on the computer.   It's what I do.

Noah: It's how you roll.

Rhys: You know it.

Well, we're pretty much done so we're rolling out of here.

An Easter Weekend

We had an Easter Weekend.  On Saturday, we colored eggs for the first time.  Noah had a green egg and Rhys had a blue egg.  Dipping eggs in colored water was cool.  Blue, green, yellow and orange.

Noah: Green is my favorite color.  And Daddy's.  And Grams'.  Rhys is Blue and Mommy is Orange.

On Sunday morning we found Easter baskets that the Easter Bunny left us filled with a bunny rabbit...

Rhys: My bunny rabbit was holding a baseball.
Noah: And mine was holding a soccer ball.
Rhys: Plus stickers!!  Thomas the train stickers!!
Noah: And candy.  Uh huh.

Then we went to church and Noah's Sunday school class had an Easter egg hunt.

Noah: I got lots of plastic eggs filled with things like candy and toys.

Rhys: What?  I didn't.  But I did get to have The Mommy, who came in to help with my class. :-)  I love The Mommy.  I just sat on her lap the whole time.

Noah: Then afterwards, we went to lunch at a place called The Olive Garden.

Rhys: And I wasn't feeling well.  All I wanted to do was cuddle in The Mommy's lap and suck on a bottle, which she didn't have.  She left it at church!  I was running a fever.  But then she gave me some ice water and I felt a little better.  I picked up a piece of meatball from her plate and put it in my mouth.  Then spit it out again.  Yuk!  But as I drank and played with the ice water, I still felt a little better.

Noah: I had good mac-and-cheese, though.  With grated parmesean cheese on top.  Yum!

And then Grams, The Parents and us went back to our car in the pouring rain with our leftover food and headed home where we hung out and played for the rest of the day.

Noah: I didn't want to go to bed.

Rhys: I did.

And so we did.
